Arrival In Malawi!

“Arriving” is a process in Africa. Descending steps onto the tarmac in the warm air at Chileka International airport we are whisked away and escorted to the VIP lounge to rest while officials retrieve our luggage. Interviewed by local press and radio first then ushered through to a waiting chorus of 30 Mvano women singing “You are welcome” and church officials, dozens of them! (See video below!). There’s no embarrassment at all about singing openly in the airport carpark about the love of Jesus. It melts the heart!  It’s the signing of the partnership agreement this year that’s heightened interest this year ... but nevertheless they are so genuine about wanting us to be there and enjoying the fact that a church from the West loves them and respects them. Several welcome speeches later we are “settled in” at Grace Bandawe. Familiar faces such as Craig (with two boys) are there, along with Richard and Rose, former moderator Rodney Bona, Kay Day etc. Colin as in Zomba doing two weddings.

Apologises for the poor quality video, this welcome was so unexpected I didn't even have time to get the video camera out! Thank goodness God gave us iPhones :-)

  2. That was awesome!!!! No matter how tired you were from travelling I'm sure that lifted your spirits and encouraged you for the reason that you are there. To encourage these people in their Faith with God and to tell him about his love for them. :) Look forward to more.
